While the government has increasingly been encouraging South Africans to download the COVID-19 Alert SA App, MTN has decided to roll out an incentive to push downloads. Users on the MTN network who download the app will be rewarded with 1GB of data absolutely free! This reward is presented to users once they have completed the installation of the app and begin its setup. The only catch is that you only have one hour to use the free data before it expires. MTN has said, however, that this could be a nice boost and users will benefit from having extra data, even if only for a short period.
