Virtual Tour de France showcasing the wonders of esports

July 30, 2020

Riders are taking part from home.

This year marks the world’s first Virtual Tour de France, which – despite the name – was not held in France, but nowhere really. All riders took part from their various homes across the world in a “virtual city”. other than being an individual race, it was run in teams, it was a lot shorter than the actual Tour and, most importantly, it involved cyclists sitting on their bikes indoors plugged into the Zwift virtual cycling system. It also featured live commentary and the stream is in exceptionally good quality, leading many to think it was the actual event!
