Briana Hamblin was sexually and racially harassed before going on air to do a live broadcast.

In the USA, a video has gone viral which shows a reporter, Briana Hamblin, being racially and sexually harassed before going live on air. In the clip, a man approaches Hamblin from behind, telling her she is “beautiful as hell”. The man continued to hound her about why she was at this particular spot in New York, to which she kept on responding “Go and find a television and watch Spectrum Local News!”. Obviously, she tried to get the man to leave. “You see, that’s why I can’t be left alone with a Black woman or a mulatto chick. ‘Cause I can’t stand these f—– white girls,” the man was heard responding. Hamblin was clearly uncomfortable but tried her best to stay calm to get the man to leave. On Twitter, people have voiced their support for Hamblin. The video does, however, show the stark reality many women around the world are facing. A UN study has found that 97% of women have experienced harassment similar to that showcased in the clip of Hamblin’s encounter with the unidentified man.
