Grade 12 and 7 school learners were supposed to go back to school today, 1 June. Last night, the Department of Basic Education, however, announced that they would hold a press conference to provide clarity on the proposed dates for the return of pupils as many schools are not yet ready to receive learners. The Western Cape Education Department issued a statement saying that schools in this province will be open, even though the National Department has yet to give the final say in the matter.
