In an interview with Fox News, he said that he decided to wear the mask to not spread any germs to the soldiers. Trump has been vocal about not wearing a mask, at some point having even mocked those who choose to wear them on Twitter. Research has shown that the practice can help prevent transmission of the coronavirus by blocking respiratory droplets.
