Survey shows 52% of South Africans don’t want the COVID-19 vaccine

The survey was completed by leading fintech company, CompariSure.

CompariSure recently completed a survey which revealed that 52% of South Africans don’t want the COVID-19 vaccine. This is despite many people across the world that have already received the vaccine with no immediate negative effects. When asked why they do not want the vaccine, most argued that they are concerned about long-term side effects. Others indicated that a possible high cost is what is putting them off. Some said that they are worried about government tracking through the vaccine (a theory which has been debunked previously). In order for the country to achieve successful herd immunity, at least 67% of citizens need to be vaccinated.
