They will take to the streets on Wednesday, after many of them are facing severe hardship due to lockdown regulations.

South African restaurant-owners will take to the streets in protest on Wednesday. This is being described as the biggest protest action that this sector has ever seen and comes after restaurants have had to endure months without any income due to lockdown regulations. The Restaurant Association of South Africa (Rasa) notified the police of this protest last week. Tables and chairs will be used to block roads outside various restaurants between 12:00 and 14:00 on Wednesday as part of the peaceful protest to highlight the massive impact of Covid-19 lockdown regulations on the industry.
