Today marks the start of the country’s second phase of the vaccine rollout. People aged 60 and older have had the chance to register for their jabs for some time and from today, they will be administered. According to some publications, like the City Press, though, the registration rate has been very low, with many qualifying people unaware of the fact that they have been invited to register. Government aims to vaccinate 100 000 people per day under this phase, however, they are still not done with the first phase which is reserved for medical personnel. According to a recent survey, the government will have to inoculate at least 190 000 people per day to reach their target of 40 million people by February 2022.
