They use a video conferencing program called Sneek to do this.
As most people are working from home due to the nationwide lockdown, some companies have taken extreme measures to ensure that their workforce is indeed working from home. It has been reported that some businesses are using a program called Sneek to take webcam photographs of their staff working from home every 5 minutes. The software’s founder said that Sneek was never meant to be used to spy on people. Companies using it to check up on staff say that the only reason they are doing it is to try and recreate an office space where people would be able to see each other almost the entire workday.
