Sit-down restaurants to reopen under advanced level 3 of the lockdown

June 20, 2020

It seems that alcohol won’t be allowed and diners will be screened upon arrival.

During the past week, President Ramaphosa addressed the nation to announce that more relaxations to the national lockdown are going to be implemented. One such relaxation is that sit-down restaurants will be allowed to resume operations again. A date as to exactly when this will be allowed has yet to be announced. However, in the meantime, it has become apparent that no alcohol will be served at restaurants for the time being. Guests will probably also be screened before being allowed to enter the restaurant. It is still unclear how restaurants will go about handling the wearing of masks by guests and how many people will be allowed inside each venue.
