The concert is a result of a partnership between his foundation SHIMUZIC and the Siya Kolisi Foundation.

Shimza, known by some as Ashley Raphala, will become the first artist in history to perform a live stream show from Robben Island. A partnership between his foundation, SHIMUZIC and the Siya Kolisi Foundation has led to this concert taking place on Mandela Day, 18 July. Both foundations are geared towards raising funds for those negatively affected by Covid-19 as well as Robben Island itself. The concert can be streamed for free through Howler, however, donations can be made throughout the 2-hour gig.
