SANParks allows self-drive trips for visitors

June 9, 2020

Parks like the Kruger National Park will thus be able to receive visitors again.

From this week, SANParks will be allowing visitors to go on self-drive trips through their parks again. This is the first time that many of these parks will be open to the public since the lockdown was announced in March. The parks will be limiting face-to-face contact between staff and guests by encouraging online and telephonic day visit bookings and full payment of conservation fees before arrival where possible. Mketeni said Namaqua National Park, as well as Boulders and Cape Point in Table Mountain National Park, remain closed for the meantime and the majority of gates at Kruger National Park will be open except Pafuri and Numbi gates.
