Samsung announces another surprise “Unpacked” event

October 14, 2021

It’ll take place on 20 October.

In a surprise move, Samsung has announced that it will hold another one of its launch events on 20 October. They are calling this event the Galaxy Unpacked 2: The Unpackening. The live broadcast of the show will start at 16:00 South African time.

No one is really too sure exactly which products the tech giant is going to drop at the event. Samsung itself has not even given the event an official tagline as of yet. All information that fans do have is a series of boxes floating around on the event advert video.

Another bit of text in the video is that what will be unveiled has something to do with “…the technology use every day should reflect their individuality”. This too is rather cryptic.

The teaser video also shows a series of app icons, including Samsung’s media, health and smart home apps. They are all packed in little boxes and it gives the impression that they are being sent somewhere.

Rumour mill has suggested that this event won’t be the one where Samsung drops the Galaxy S21 FE yet. Although some sources have said that the phone is actually going to be the main focus of the event.

More likely is that Samsung plans to reveal several new devices, such as wearables and smart home tech. Or perhaps they will use this event to announce upcoming software. But all of these are very unusual for Samsung to host an entire Unpacked event on.

Only time will tell. You can set your reminders for the live video on YouTube in the meantime.
