October 12, 2020

Most new cases came from the Western Cape.

Since the start of level 1 of the nationwide lockdown, South Africa’s coronavirus infection figures have been slightly more under control than we have become used to. However, over the weekend, the country saw the first significant increase in infections since we entered level 1. Over the last 24 hours, 2 364 new cases were reported. Interestingly, more than 16% of these new infections were recorded in the Western Cape. The total number of cases in SA now stands at approximately 690 896.
