Zweli Mkhize and his wife are self-isolating at home.

South Africa’s health minister, Zweli Mkhize, and his wife have tested positive for COVID-19, his office said on Sunday. Both the Minister and his wife are self-isolating at home. Mkhize started experiencing light symptoms over the weekend, which promoted the tests. He has since said that he is confident they will be able to recover quickly. On Friday, the number of coronavirus cases in Africa’s worst affected country surpassed 700,000 since the first case was diagnosed in March and amid fears a second wave of infection would exacerbate an economic recession.
