New Spanish restaurant opens in Cape Town’s Bree Street

March 6, 2021

Chef’s Warehouse Pinchos & Winebar has an impressive wine list and unique dishes.

The Chef’s Warehouse group has reinvented its Bree Street Canteen to now be a new Spanish restaurant in Cape Town. The restaurant’s new name is Pinchos. The name refers to small snacks usually enjoyed with a drink. It is no surprise, then, that their wine list is very impressive and extensive.  They boast a unique ensemble of Spanish-style wines that go perfectly with their Spanish dishes. The food options include Jamon Iberico – aged, acorn-fed cured leg of ham, sardines and tomato on toast, salt-baked prawns with roasted garlic aioli, and potato croquettes with chorizo.

The main courses are large and made for sharing. This makes the Pinchos experience highly social and perfect for after-work celebrations with colleagues or catch-ups with friends.  Chef Gordon Logan, who previously worked at Foliage in Franschhoek, is in charge of the kitchen.

Chef’s Warehouse is owned by Liam Tomlin – a true veteran of the South African food industry. He also has a restaurant located in Barcelona, which explains why he saw a gap to bring Spanish cuisine to the streets of Cape Town.
