All learners will be back in class by 24 August.

The Department of Basic Education has officially released and gazetted a revised school calendar. This comes after the President announced that schools would take a break to ensure the safety of teachers and pupils. The new calendar sets out 24 August as the date on which all learners will be back in class. However, a phased return to school is being followed. Grade 12 learners are returning to schools today. All in all. Learners will have just over 150 school days left for the year.
