Properly disinfecting surfaces can kill the virus before it spreads.
There have been many myths doing the rounds about how long the coronavirus can survive on surfaces. A study that was released this week confirmed that the virus can live from anywhere between 3 hours to 3 days on surfaces, depending on the material in question. The researchers found that the virus can live the longest on stainless steel. Properly disinfecting surfaces at your home or office can, however, kill COVID-19 before it has time to spread. They said that cleaning surfaces thoroughly with an alcohol-based cleaner and hot water is the best way to combat the virus.
