Although Nadia Nakai and Vic Mensa stole the hearts of local fans when rumours of their relationship first started surfacing last year, the couple have now broken up, according to Nakai in a recent interview.

Nakai made an appearance on Lasiswe’s YouTube show, “Drink or tell the truth” and she broke the news when asked about her relationship with the US rapper.

The duo were often referred to as a true power couple. They dated for a couple of months after creating a track together.

During the interview, a crew member asked Nakai how long she and Mensa had been an item for so far. She replied that “they broke up” and that it doesn’t really matter anymore.

The presenter of the show first asked her who she would rather have kids with. She immediately said she would have to say with Vic. From this, the crew member asked her about the length of her relationship with Vic, after which she dropped the bomb.

It was the first time that either one of the couple has officially confirmed they are no longer together.

Some fans did suspect there was trouble in paradise, especially because Nakai hadn’t shared a photo of the two of them together in quite some time. It is not clear, though, what the reason for their breakup is.

Vic has not yet commented on the fact that they have split.

In other news, he was recently recruited to feature in a film about ProKid’s life and career. It seems like Mensa is enjoying being recognised in South Africa.
