A new web-based platform Mr Yum has hit South Africa, allowing customers to order and pay for food from local restaurants through the Mr Yum website. This service is much more cost-effective, charging just over 7% commission on orders. Mr D charges as much as 30%. It also does not manage deliveries, merely takes orders. Restaurants are responsible for facilitating deliveries on their own accord. There’s no app to download. The platform is completely web-based and offers customers the choice of delivery to their door or pick up at the venue, as well as contactless menus and payments when in table dining re-opens.
