The gig will be for charity and will be live-streamed to viewers.
Master KG will share the stage with the Ndlovu Youth Choir for a charity performance on Robben Island on 25 April.
The concert will be to the benefit of the Africa Rising and the Live Love non-profit. The MC for this event will be the popular media personality, Maps Maponyane.
Africa Rising is a new initiative that tells stories through music. They are known for setting up concerts with some of SA’s biggest artists at iconic locations. The funds raised by these concerts are plunged back into industries that have been crushed by COVID-19, like the music sector.
Those interested in getting a very select seat at the actual show on Robben Island can enter a lucky draw to score this opportunity. All you need to do is head over to Africa Rising’s website and donate at least R30. They will then draw lucky winners who will receive special VIP treatment and the chance to come to the island to be part of the live audience.
Both artists performing at this event need little introduction. Master KG hit instant fame when his song, “Jerusalema” went viral. Even the President said that it is one of his favourite new songs! Since the success of that hit, Master KG’s career has excellent both locally and internationally.
The Ndlovu Youth Choir received global recognition after they reached the final of season 14 of America’s Got Talent. Since then, they have signed record deals with Syco and Sony Music. Their first album recently dropped and reached the number one spot on iTunes.
