The show airs every night at 21:30 on M-Net.
After months of waiting, the South African rendition of Love Island finally hit local screens. The show, which airs on M-Net, premiered this past Sunday at 20:00 with a 90-minute episode. The episode mainly focused on introducing the boys and girls of the show to the audience. Most fans were, however, utterly disappointed with the shockingly low production quality of the program.
If you’re watching #LoveIslandSA, now you can understand why correct audio mixing is so important.
It has the potential to have the same entertainment value as Love Island UK but they hired a 1st year sound engineering student 🤣

Issues ranged from soundless clips to outright low-quality footage being aired. In last night’s episode, the editing also seemed to be mismatched with the overall structure of the show. They also left in editing reels and advert trims! Other than that, people on Twitter are very unhappy with the lack of black people being represented on the show. Some are calling it “Love Island Orania”.
