Liquor sales resume today

But you won’t be able to stockpile, as limits on how much you can buy will apply.

Today, the national lockdown in South Africa has been downgraded to level 3, which sees a lot of more relaxed regulations. One of these relaxations is that liquor sales will be resuming from today. Very strict guidelines will apply, however. Liquor stores may only be open from 09:00 – 17:00, Mondays to Thursdays. Another measure that will be in place is that one will not be able to stockpile any liquor. According to the government, the industry will self-regulate this aspect of their resumed trade. Practically, it means that purchase limits will apply as to how much liquor people can buy in one transaction.
