This comes after hikers did not comply with social distancing rules.

Under level 3 of the national lockdown, Lion’s Head reopened to hikers. Over the weekend, however, the trails were closed as a result of some hikers not adhering to social distancing rules. SANParks says that the closure comes just over the week after the park reopened to the public. SANParks said the public could not be trusted with reasonable social distancing efforts on Lion’s Head, and that it was extremely busy at the summit of the mountain, making it impossible for people to keep their distance.
