The president and the minister of health have been citing postive reports and statistics around coronavirus infections in South Africa for the past week. Some cabinet members have also said that level 1 will be announced soon, indicating that South Africa is making good progress in its fight against Covid-19. Under level 1, it is expected that the curfew will be lifted and up to 100 people will be allowed to gather at events like funerals and weddings. It is expected that Ramaphosa will address the nation this week still.
