Kanye West has released a brand-new single this week called “Wash Us In The Blood”. The rapper teamed up with Travis Scott for this track, which was mixed by Dr. Dre. This is the first track that Kanye has released since his 2019 album, “Jesus is King”. The new track is the first single to be released that will form part of his upcoming (and highly anticipated) album, tentatively called “God’s Country”. It’s clear from the new song and the proposed name for the new album that Kanye is sticking to his word by moving away from secular music to more religious, gospel-type hits. The track touches on themes like Black oppression, mass incarceration, and slavery. There also seem to be a number of references to Kanye’s ongoing battle with mental illness.
