Although Kanye is known for constantly tweaking his music, there might be more to this story…
Kanye West has made some changes to his “Donda” album. Fans noticed that Chris Brown’s voice has been totally removed on the track “New Again” as of yesterday. In its place, one can now hear a Sunday choir and Kanye’s own voice is much more clearer.
Rolling Stones first broke the news in an article after various readers sent emails about the change in the sound they picked up.
Kanye’s representatives did not respond to Rolling Stones with any comments on the news.
Ye has been known to constantly update and improve his music, so it is no surprise that Donda listeners have picked up on some changes to the tracks. But, some tabloids are reporting that there might be more to the story than Kanye simply wanting to improve the quality of the song.
Chris Brown recently called Kanye a “whole hoe” for not using his entire recorded verse on “New Again”. It might be that Kanye was just not having it and was fed up with Chris insisting that he should include the entire verse in the track.
Brown also took to Instagram in August to post his entire verse for “New Again”, but he ended up quickly deleting it. He captioned it “The verse/chorus I mysteriously didn’t do!”.
In other reports, Kanye apparently also removed Kenyan artist KayCyy from the song “My Spirit Alive”. However, KayCyy still features on one of the songs, “Hurricane”.
Thanks to the digital nature of music these days, artists have the ability to change music even after the release of their albums. Some fans have said that they would prefer if artists did not have this ability because it gives them too much power if they can go back and edit tracks.
