Huawei has announced that it has partnered with South Africa service provider, rain and the Click Foundation to connect over 100 schools to the internet. Both urban and rural schools have been identified to receive internet connections and Huawei devices as part of this initiative. According to the tech producer, they want to connect schools to the internet while providing, “high-quality educational resources such as digital curriculums and e-learning applications, and teacher and student training.” The idea is that they want to help the education system to create digitally savvy individuals.
