It might include facial recognition technology.

Facebook’s virtual and augmented reality team has confirmed that they are still on track to release their highly-anticipated smart glasses sometime this year. They have been working on these specs since 2017. In a recent statement, Facebook said that their glasses might even include facial recognition technology, but only if they can get past privacy concerns. The idea is that the glasses can identify people you encounter in the real world and display information about them to you. Facebook is working with Ray-Ban’s parent company, Luxottica when it comes to the design of the glasses.
