COVID-19 Treatment facility in Khayelitsha torched in protest

A COVID-19 treatment facility in Khayelitsha has been set alight over the weekend during protest action. The protests took place after police apparently tore down illegal structures that were set up near the facility. The building that was damaged was the Desmond Tutu Community Hall and according to the City, they were nearly done retrofitting it to serve as an overflow facility for coronavirus patients. SAPS has arrested four suspects who are currently being held.
