Over the weekend, a congregant of a church in Centurion discharged his firearm and killed two robbers who held the pastor and other congregants at gunpoint. Pieter van der Westhuizen, the person who shot the robbers, has said through his lawyers that he is a licensed gun-owner and that he took action because his life and that of his fellow congregants were being threatened by the robbers who were also armed. His lawyers have also said that they are giving their full cooperation to the police.
