Cape Town considers “mini-lockdown”

November 30, 2020

This comes after a resurgence of COVID-19 in several districts

South Africa has reported a staggering 5 500 new COVID-19 cases just over the weekend. Many regions in the Western Cape have been identified as hotspots, where a resurgence of the virus is taking place. The City of Cape Town has said that it is considering implementing mini-lockdowns in several areas in the province. This will mean that some districts will have stricter rules than others to curb the spread of the coronavirus. Alan Winde has said that this will only be a last resort and that no decision has been made just yet.
