British show “I May Destroy You” wins big at this year’s BAFTAS.

It won best mini-series and best editing, among others.

The British show, “I May Destroy You” was aired on BBC and HBO and attracted millions of viewers. The story follows the life of a young writer as she recovers from a sexual assault. On Sunday 6 June the series received the best mini-series and editing awards, with the lead actress herself taking best leading actress, director and drama writer at the BAFTAS.

 

 

 

In her acceptance speech, Michaela Coel, the lead actor and director of the show, said that the series explores intimacy, consent and the effects of abuse on a very real level. She hopes that many more people will watch the show and hopefully relate with some of the factors the story is about. The series is currently available on Showmax.
