Apple Music has launched a new artist showcase called “Africa Rising”. The showcase will feature one upcoming artist from Africa every two months. The idea is that the exposure that featured artists will get from this showcase will help to elevate their careers in the global music scene. The first artist to be featured is Omah Lay, a Nigerian-born singer. Her debut EP Get Layd has been the No. 1 album on Apple Music Nigeria since its release in May. The Africa Rising showcase comes only a couple of months after Apple Music launched in two dozen African countries. The showcase will be available globally for anyone who’d like to see that suburb talent coming from the continent.
