The plane landed safely, but debris fell onto several properties
In the USA, a United Airlines Boeing 777 had to return to Denver Airport shortly after taking off as a result of a serious engine failure. The plane was carrying about 231 passengers. Its one engine caught fire and forced the pilots to abort their flight. Luckily, they were able to land safely and no one was injured. A lot of debris did fall onto properties on the ground as the engine broke down. United Airlines has grounded all of its flights pending an investigation into the incident. In Japan, the government has asked all airlines with the same Boeing 777 and engines to not enter their airspace. Boeing has said that they support the decision by the Japanese authorities. According to the aircraft manufacturer, there are 69 such planes in service worldwide.
